Title: General Manager, Human Factors Practice Lead
Salary: 180-220K
Location: MA - Concord (Remote)
Description:

Global Leader in Safety Science is seeking a proven leader, General Manager, to manage their Human Factors business which provides user studies, reports, evaluations to clients on how users interact with a medical device and other devices and systems, including automotive.The practice makes recommendations to clients on how to make a product safer more comfortable and easier to use. This role does not require someone to have Human Factors experience, although that is a plus, but someone with experience managing P&L of $10-20M. A must is someone with a consulting background, preferably in the medical device or related industry such as life sciences. Experience scaling a consulting business, growing profitability and ability to present and sell with a strong commercial mindset. This General Manager (GM) role will lead the team and be directly responsible for the Profit and Loss (P&L) and growth of the business both through organic expansion and via acquisition and partnership. This role can be remote.

Responsibilities:
  • Full Profit and Loss (P&L) ownership with direct responsibility for operations
  • Responsible for developing and successfully executing plans for growth and operational excellence.
  • Develop expansion strategies and deploy new services and solutions to support current and prospective clients.

Requirements:
  • 10+ years experience
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree
  • Experience leading a consulting organization
  • Proven strong commercial skills, engaging with customers and industry
  • Innovative and entrepreneurial; ability to develop, implement and support strategies
  • Business and financial acumen
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Leading a P&L
  • M&A exposure/experience, including integration preferred
  • Experience with complex customer interactions
  • Track record of building strong people/teams
  • Global experience (culture, market, business practices, etc.)
  • Experience leading significant organizational changes
  • Visionary, strategic thinker who leads the change in the market
  • Human and engaging, building a culture of trust, inspiration, drive and growth
  • Skilled at identifying both disruptive and sustaining innovations
  • Able to partner and lead partnership across global, matrixed, and cross-functional divisions/teams
