Description:

Information Services firm is looking for a Director to join their Survey Research group. The role is focused healthcare and life sciences industry. A person that is knowledgeable in Life Sciences, Healthcare markets from a Market Intelligence stand point is ideal. The position will do survey design as well as guiding final reports. You must be able to talk to the clients about the industry and be able to recommend research methodology. Additionally, this person will direct teams that help clients qualify and quantify industry and market trends through pipeline analyses, commercial assessments, product forecasting, and general marketplace investigation.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the pitching, execution, and delivery of customized survey products to clients
  • Help manage the commercial success through marketing, client interaction, and relentlessly excellent project delivery
  • Innovate around survey design, introduce advanced modeling to clients, and ensure deliverables meet the high standard of the firm.
  • Elevate firms survey offering by acting a resource and mentor to survey professionals, especially around market research methodologies
  • Meet directly with clients and internal partners to increase awareness of and confidence in firms survey’s capabilities (this may involve up to 10% travel)
  • Develop, implement and enforce best practices for project execution to deliver high-quality research and deliverables to senior clientele
  • Work closely with the VP to develop and execute strategies for growth

Requirements:
  • 7-10+ years of market research or similar experience
  • Experience across a wide variety of market research solutions/practices
  • Experience analyzing results and/or communicating quantitative research results to stakeholders
  • Experience with statistical techniques
  • Experience with marketing and sales of research products
  • Experience leading research teams and developing junior members
  • Experience managing revenue targets
  • Experience collaborating with team-members in a high-throughput, deadline-driven, process-oriented, client-servicing environment
  • Superior writing, logic and interaction skills; including oral and organizational skills

The idea candidate will speak English plus either Spanish or Portuguese and have experience conducting market research for the pharmaceutical and/or medical device industry. This is an exciting and varied job in a dynamic and fast-growing consulting firm with the opportunity to work for leading companies, both nationally and internationally.

Responsibilities:
  • Primary customers are North and South America-based business intelligence, sales and marketing directors/managers in leading companies in the pharmaceutical industry. You may also assist on projects with customers based in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) or Asia Pacific regions.
  • Become the main point-of-contact for clients.
  • Build a solid long-term relationship with customers and become their trusted partner for further opportunities (though no direct business development responsibilities)
  • Day-to-day activities will focus on customer-facing assignments such as aligning closely with the client’s team to translate their business challenges into concrete projects, managing their projects from start to finish, and presenting project deliverables to senior leadership teams and moderating interactive, face-to-face workshops.
  • Deliver high-end strategic advice, you will need to analyze the market (research) data and turn facts and figures into actionable insights (with assistance of our advanced analytics team).
  • Develop strategic recommendations and design concrete action plans.
  • This position is based in Midtown Manhattan office (New York, NY)

Requirements:
  • 3 to 8 years of experience in consulting or market research
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Ideally, have had pharmaceutical companies and medical device companies as clients
  • Strong background - by education and/or by experience - in market research
  • Fluent in English, and highly preferred also in Brazilian Portuguese and Spanish
  • Proven, client-facing workshop facilitation skills and experience;
  • Sound knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry or show a great interest in the vertical
  • Superior Excel skills, in addition to potentially additional quantitative application experience (e.g., SPSS, R).
  • Ability to quickly build a relationship of trust with the customer
  • Availability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20%.
