Marketing Research Supplier that provides custom research, quantitative and qualitative, needs a strong supplier side researcher. This role is responsible for generating new business for full-service marketing research services with companies in Health and Wellness (Examples: Personal care, beauty, Natural/Organic food/bev, cleaning products), Luxury, and Travel. This role is heavily focused on COLD sales. Initially, must not expect leads to be handed over.

  • Call on senior market researchers within the insights, innovation, and R&D departments of Fortunate 500/1000 companies
  • Find leads/contacts utilizing personal network, LinkedIn, D&B access, and internal HubSpot database.
  • Work in coordination with marketing department on outreach initiatives.
  • Participate in professional and trade associations, attend conferences and monthly professional meetings to promote the firm and attain new clients
  • Attain new clients through: Identifying relevant targets; Making the connection through emails, calls, networking, etc
  • Attain and run in-person/online potential new client meetings
  • Attain and respond to RFPs
  • Write proposals and negotiate contracts
  • Manage the new client from a client development perspective (not actual research, this will be supported by seasoned researchers)
  • Complete weekly pipeline and activity reviews; (prospect conversations and online, phone or in-person meetings) and delivers weekly summary to manager
  • Regularly reviews and adapts key prospect sales plans
  • Effectively builds pipeline and closes new sales

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 10+ years in market research with sales experience at a full-service research company
  • Cold experience is a must – finding leads, reaching out to cold leads and converting to a meeting, moving contact through sales funnel
  • Familiarity with market research methods
  • online community knowledge a plus
  • Experience with consultative selling and relationship development
  • Track record of winning new work, opening new accounts and consistently exceeding sales quotas
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed to develop business
  • Strong knowledge of CRM software (Hubspot) and lead generation tools and techniques
  • Self-starter/strong independent contributor
  • Experienced at writing a sales plan for key accounts
  • Must respond with appropriate urgency to client inquires and RFPs
